Final Fantasy XIV: an unexpected postponement for the next expansion

It's a last minute delay that affects Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalkers. Indeed, the extension will not be released in November but rather in December.

Since its resurrection in 2013, Square Enix's MMORPG has been delighting millions of players around the world. The release of each new extension is therefore experienced as a small event by the community. Thus, to say that the DLC Endwalker is expected at the turn is an understatement. Alas, this unprecedented adventure will make us languish for a few more days.

A little postponement already forgiven

In a press release written by Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV, we learn that the Endwalker expansion will not arrive on November 23 but on December 7, 2021. As for early access, it will start from December 3. During a live, Yoshida apologized for a long time and even had tears in his eyes when he announced the news. This is the first time that the main interested party has been forced to postpone a launch date.

The producer went further, stating that his "own selfishness" was behind the postponement. The team in charge of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has indeed spent a lot of time on its design since it is the most substantial extension. Thus, less time was allocated to internal testing and that is why the launch date was changed. Nothing serious then.
