During E3 last June, Square Enix announced the series of Final fantasy pixel remaster on PC and mobile. This initiative aims to improve the rendering of the 2D opuses of the license. At the start of the school year, it is the fourth episode of the saga which will benefit from these improvements.

Originally released in July 1991 in Japan on Super Nintendo, Final Fantasy IV is very popular with fans of the franchise. This game tells the journey of Cecil, a black knight who decides to oppose the tyranny of the kingdom of Baron, of which he has joined the squadron of the Red Wings. All sprinkled with a love story and turn-based combat in the purest tradition of JRPGs.

A slightly reworked version

Do not expect a radical change, but this PC and mobile port of Final Fantasy IV will benefit from several improvements. Already, the 2D rendering of both characters and backgrounds has been improved. The audio quality has also been upgraded. As for the gameplay, note the modernization of the interface, the support for controllers and the presence of an automatic combat option. Players will even be able to save their progress at any time.

Finally, a gallery of illustrations, a music player and a description of the bestiary of the game are included. This version of Final Fantasy IV will be released on September 8, 2021 at 14,39 euros (with currently -20% discount) on Steam. The mobile edition might be a bit more expensive.
