Everwild: a development in distress for Xbox exclusivity?

The creators of Sea of Thieves are currently at work on a completely new license named Everwild. Alas, more than two years after its announcement, Rare's game has shown very little...

Back in June, the first rumors of Everwild's complicated development were swirling online. At that time, we learned that the game had been completely rebooted and that its release should not take place before 2024 at best. Then, last October, Xbox came to appease the spirits by evoking alarmist noises from corridors… But we have something new.

Disaster in sight?

This time, it is the turn of the insider and journalist Jeff Grubb to bring his stone to the building. He explains in particular that the development is always so “messy” and that many developers at Rare do not really manage to define the concept of Everwild at the present time. A rather worrying finding for a title in production for several years. Grubb even goes so far as to evoke a real “disaster”… These remarks raise fears of a cancellation.

If not through its first two trailers, Everwild has not shown itself at all since its presentation in November 2019. It remains to be seen whether Rare will manage to get out of this very delicate situation.
