It's been over a month nowElden Ring makes a splash wherever he goes. The collaboration between the teams of Hidetaka Miyazaki and George RR Martin, the author of Game of Thrones, has largely borne fruit with spectacular figures. On the side of Bandai Namco, we see this winning duo with a very good eye, and the publisher is already looking for a future collaboration of this kind.

If the publisher is currently prospecting to find the next writer who will ensure him a success as impressive as the last production of FromSoftware, it could be that a candidate is already in the small papers of the company which publishes the game.

Literature and video games, the winning combo?

Now that George RR Martin can quietly resume his work on the next volume of his flagship saga, entitled The Winds of Winter, the place is free to collaborate with FromSoftware on their next hit. As mentioned above, Bandai Namco already has a name in mind, namely that of Brandon Sanderson, the author of the literary cycles Son-of-the-brumes (Mistborn, in VO) and Les Archives de Roshar (Stormlight Archive, in VO) .

To celebrate the release of the game, the publisher sent many packages to important personalities, including Brandon Sanderson. The latter has also shared the content during a livestream until finding, between two or three goodies, a small note from the editor indicating his interest in a potential future collaboration.

The recipient, delighted, would not be at his first attempt in the video game. In the past, he has worked on writing a story for Magic: The Gathering and is said to have worked on a title that has yet to be announced. Better still, the one who should have been at the head of the writing of Elden Ring, as he points out, already has a pitch in mind that could stick to the DNA of “Soulsborne”.

The alignment of the planets is total for both parties. Be that as it may, Bandai Namco's note did not go unnoticed by Brandon Sanderson, who intends to send his sketch to the publisher and to FromSoftware. Maybe his name will appear in the credits of the studio's future game, go figure.
