Last pushed back to February 4, 2022, the highly anticipated FPS crossbred d'Action-RPG Dying Light 2 has officially crossed a crucial step in its development thanks to Gold status.

So that means Techland's title shouldn't suffer any further delays and we'll be able to do some real parkour against infected within two months.

Stay Gold

The continuation of the very solid Dying Light thus comes back from very far. Subject to multiple postponements and particularly tense situations within the Techland studio, to the point of risking an outright cancellation of the project, Dying Light 2 finally seems to be materializing.

Obtaining its Gold status indicates that the game can now be published and the discs manufactured, so that everything is ready for D-Day. According to Tymon Smektala, the game's chief game designer, this crucial step however, is far from the end of the journey. If the Gold status obtained two months before the release of the game is a good sign, there are always points to refine, and even more in an open world, as Cyberpunk 2077 made the bitter observation.

There is no doubt that Techland is also already planning the content to come on its next game. Remember that Dying Light, the first of the name, although released in 2015, continues to receive regular updates and content injections today. We bet that the Polish studio intends to do the same on the second opus.

Anyway, see you at the Cité on February 4, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch (via the Cloud) to try to stay human.
