Miserly in information, but always in development at Bioware, Dragon Age 4 could finally only be released on PC, PS5 et Xbox Series X| S.

In any case, this seems to indicate the LinkedIn profile of Daniel Nordlander, who was obviously chief player designer between 2019 and 2020 on Dragon Age.

A next generation Dragon Age

Since the painful episodes Mass Effect: Andromeda and especially Anthem, Bioware has been particularly discreet about its future projects. In any case, we know that a new Mass Effect episode, potentially developed on the Unreal Engine, is in the works. Even more tangible, Dragon Age 4 has been talked about via a few artworks and should be released in 2023.

Until now, we could have assumed that the sequel to the action-RPG franchise which had known very highs and very lows would be released on both old and new generation consoles. But the LinkedIn profile of Daniel Nordlander seems to provide some clarification. We can indeed see the mention “Dragon Age (PS5/Xbox Series X+S/PC)”. The man would apparently have held an important position on this project from October 2019 to October 2020 before becoming the director of a certain Godfall.

If Electronic Arts is still trying to offer cross-gen versions of titles like Battlefield 2042 or FIFA 22, it could be that the publisher will start by 2022 or 2023 to offer titles only reserved for the new generation of consoles. . A strategy after all logical, provided that the shortage of consoles finally comes to dry up by then.

Anyway, the wait may still be long before we learn more about Dragon Age 4 and a more precise release date.
