While the many fans of the masterpiece that is Breath of the Wild hoped to play after him on a new Switch… industry analysts could dampen their hopes.

In light of the latest financial report could not be more positive from Nintendo, the firm Ampere Analysis believes that the Japanese giant is not about to abandon its most beautiful goose that lays the golden eggs.

Breath of the Sad

If we know that Breath of the Wild 2 will definitely not be released this year, there was still hope that Nintendo would take the opportunity to show its most anticipated game in its best light.

In-depth analyzes of the latest trailer tended to suggest that it was too ambitious for the aging hardware of the hybrid console released six years ago. Nintendo has however hammered it several times: the Switch is only halfway through its cycle.

And what a cycle! In six years, Nintendo's real golden goose has sold over 100 million copies and continues to sell like a charm. On the strength of these elements, Ampere Analysis estimates that Nintendo should benefit for at least another two years from its very lucrative hybrid console.

That's enough time for the year-over-year sales numbers to finally start to decline and it's time for the Switch to take a well-deserved retirement. Thus, by doing a quick mental calculation, we can logically estimate that Breath of the Wild 2, expected for 2023, could well be forced to be released on the current Switch (preferably OLED).

Like the original Breath of the Wild, originally released on Wii U, perhaps its sequel will experience a breath of fresh air on Nintendo's next console… when it comes out.
