After an announcement in 2018 which did not meet with unanimous approval, the mobile title of the famous franchise hack'n slash should finally be released in 2021.

In any case, this is the announcement that was made by Activision-Blizzard in its financial report for the first quarter of 2021.

Diablo goes nomadic

Since 2018, the team in charge of Diablo Immortal has been very discreet about its project. Whether that silence was prompted by the lukewarm reception when it was announced at BlizzCon 2018 or by slow progress in development, it's hard to be certain.

Still, for the past three years, this mobile title has undergone various phases of private testing, which have generally received rather positive reviews. But for the general public, no open beta or official release window had been announced so far.

However, that changed overnight, with Activision-Blizzard's financial report for the first quarter of 2021. It states: "Diablo Immortal has entered its second phase of testing and is on its way to a worldwide release later this year. »

This year will therefore be busy for fans of the Diablo franchise, whether on smartphones and tablets with Immortal or on PC and consoles with Diablo II: Resurrected. All that remains now is to wait for an official release date for both.
