In a magic trick, Steam wiped out Valve's second-highest-grossing game, along with many collateral victims.

It is most certainly a mixture of fear and incomprehension that the players of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive must have known yesterday, around midnight. In question, the outright disappearance of the game from the Steam platform, without any explanation.

Disappeared from the catalog, not from the libraries

Quickly alerted by some users of the game, the community gathered around Counter-Strike instantly carried out its investigation. Those concerned were thus able to note the absence of any data relating to promotional screenshots, videos, successes and the description of the game on the Valve platform, which now displays, instead, the famous " 404 error”.

CS:GO has simply disappeared from the listings, even while remaining displayed in the search engine. If the situation could feed the anxieties, the paranoia and the theories of the players, those and those who had the game in their Steam library were still able to continue to indulge in it.

Steam in the fog

Quickly reappearing after a few hours, the game actually owes its temporary disappearance from the Steam store to a simple accidental error. An incident identified by Internet users, such as Pavel Djundik on Twitter, following research carried out on Steam Database, and quickly confirmed by Valve.

The error would have occurred during the deletion, also fortuitous, of a certain number of contents from the platform, among which DLCs of Fallout: New Vegas or Black Desert Online and even films and series like Mad Max or Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

More fear than harm then! And if this slight mishap remains strange given its still unknown origin, the official Twitter account of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive prefers to have fun!
