According to persistent rumours, Chrono cross could be back soon.

And too bad if you would have preferred a redesign of Chrono Trigger.

Chrono Cross Remastered en approche?

For a few years now, RPG enthusiasts have been able to enjoy remakes and other more or less successful (and justified) “remasters”. Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy VII, Saga Frontier… So many legendary adventure games that have recently been given new life. In all likelihood, a certain Chrono Cross could soon join the list.

For the record, Chrono Cross is not a game you could play when it was released if you were content with PAL releases during the PlayStation era, since the game was launched only in Japan (1999) and South America. North (2000). The game succeeds Chrono Trigger, a cult RPG still today for many fans of the genre, which was launched in 1995 on Super Nintendo (only in Japan and the United States).

It was Gematsu magazine which indicated that a “remastered” version of Chrono Cross would indeed be in the works. Note that the license will also be the subject of a collaboration with the mobile game Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space. The two games notably share the same screenwriter and the same composer.

At present, it is difficult to know what form this “new” version of Chrono Cross will take, which could be formalized during the Game Awards ceremony. According to some, we should not expect any remake, but a modernized version, like Saga Frontier Remastered a few months ago. Others indicate that the RPG could be revisited in depth, through the studio Forever Entertainment (already at the origin of Panzer Dragoon Remake). A replay that could be exclusive to PlayStation consoles. To be continued.
