According to the specialists at Charlie Intel, Raven Software would use drastic measures to get rid of the cheats that abound on Call of Duty: War zone.

Concern is mounting on forums and Discord servers where cheaters gather. Apparently, the "hardware ban" that Raven Software uses to prevent intruders from recreating an account also deprives them of being able to play Call of Duty: Vanguard, the beta of which is currently online.

Haro on cheaters

Bad weather for cheaters. Since last April, Activision has indeed set up an anti-cheat system on its Battle Royale targeting not the IP of the offenders, but their machine. As the term “hardware ban” indicates, it is the hardware used by the player that serves as the identifier here. Thus, even if he or she recreates an account to clean his slate, impossible to return to the battlefield.

However, the publisher was careful not to announce that this marking could prevent cheaters from playing the next installment in the franchise, Call of Duty: Vanguard. Currently in beta for those who have pre-ordered the game, Vanguard is inaccessible to players on the Activision blacklist. Suffice to say that the anger is rising: the interested parties have still spent around 60 euros to be able to get into the battle for the first time.

Contacted by Eurogamer, Activision has not yet reacted to the situation. Moreover, the site specifies that this kind of banishment is not infallible. A market for software to change the identifier of its equipment would even be developing. Throw them out the door, they'll come back through the window, as they say.
