Approaching its 25th anniversary, the franchise Ace Combat remained silent about its future since the launch of the seventh opus in January 2019. But following the success of the latter, Bandai Namco has no intention of abandoning the license.

Earlier in the week, the Japanese publisher organized a round table to look back on the past quarter century with Ace Combat. Very popular, this saga of aerial combat games has a large and very loyal community around the world. But despite the good critical and commercial reception of the latest opus to date, Bandai Namco had not yet commented on a hypothetical new episode…

Fortunately, this silence has been broken since Ace Combat 8 ​​is currently in development. At the controls of the project, we find the ILCA studio. The latter worked on the seventh opus but also on the Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl remasters which will land next November. This firm will be associated with the iconic Project Aces team on this new title.



Recall that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has sold 3 million copies, making it the best-selling game in the series. Regarding Ace Combat 8, we don't know anything else at this time.
