Maybe not as incredible as we would have liked, Ghostwire: Tokyo captivates us with its representation of a Tokyo invaded by spirits from Japanese folklore. A bold proposal, which its director Kenji Kimura hopes to be able to push further in the future.

In an interview with IGN Japan, the director of Ghostwire: Tokyo for Tango Gameworks expresses his desires and even begins to dream of a sequel.

Tokyo hit

"I think now that things are calming down a bit, and I've come to my senses, I'll have ideas for DLCs and sequels, and I'm going to want to make them," Kenji Kimura told IGN. Nothing has been decided yet, so I can't tell you anything more.

Of course, the future of the Ghostwire: Tokyo license depends on a lot of parameters. Sales of the game, initially, but also what Microsoft wants to do with it.

Indeed, if the Tango Gameworks game is currently an exclusive (console) PS5, the studio has meanwhile been bought by Microsoft; this one being a property of Bethesda.

Along the same lines, it was announced that Ghostwire: Tokyo would only retain its console exclusivity from Sony for one year. In the same way that there is no doubt that a certain Deathloop will eventually arrive in the Game Pass, Ghostwire: Tokyo should follow the same path by spring 2023.
