After the extremely successful launch of the latest edition, the license FIFA of Electronic Arts is preparing to undergo a slight facelift. Indeed, the title of the next opus should be different.
In addition to communicating the first impressive figures of FIFA 22, the American publisher mentioned last week a change of direction for the future episodes of its football simulation. Thus, Electronic Arts explained thinking about changing the title of FIFA games in the near future. And this modification could take place from the 2023 edition!
You will have to get used to it...
Like Konami, which chose to rename the PES saga to eFootball (with the “success” we know…), EA will opt for a new name for its football games. The firm recently registered a brand new in Great Britain as in Europe which seems to tell us about the long-awaited name. This brand is EA Sports FC.
A fairly generic title that aligns with other EA Sports productions such as EA Sports College Football or EA Sports PGA Tour. Of course, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) may not have said its last word, and Electronic Arts will have to negotiate with the latter to definitively separate itself from the name FIFA.
