As usual, Electronic Arts treats the PC as the fifth wheel of the carriage and it will be necessary to wait at least a year to have a version next gen on Windows.

Taking advantage of the weekend, Electronic Arts presented the first trailer for FIFA 22, its inevitable football simulation. At the same time, he also revealed some information in a press release which has the advantage of clarifying things. We learned, for example, that the release of the game is set for October 1 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Stadia and Switch through a Legacy Edition.

The best version on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and… Stadia

Problem, by reading the small lines, we realized that all these versions will not be equivalent. It is easy to understand that EA Sports took advantage of the superior technical capabilities of the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S to offer players something more ambitious than on PS4 or Xbox One. Thus, this Hypermotion Technology guaranteeing more realistic movements and attitudes will be reserved for them.

On the other hand, we understand much less that the Windows PC version is not next gen. It will therefore not be at the level of the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S versions. In reality, we are used to it since each generational change is accompanied by this shift concerning the PC version of FIFA. However, this year Electronic Arts plays with the nerves of PC gamers by evoking a next gen version on… Stadia.

More than ever, it will be interesting to watch the reaction of players in the coming weeks and when FIFA 22 is released.
