It's not really a surprise but FIFA 22 coins is indeed a worldwide success. Electronic Arts has published the first figures around this new edition while teasing a possible big change for the next opus.

If the critics did not necessarily praise the football simulation signed EA Sports, the players on their side responded well to the call. But in Great Britain, an astonishing fact has been observed… Within this territory, FIFA 22 has seen sales of its physical version fall by 35% compared to the previous edition. More precise figures have not yet been released by the publisher.

A new name to reign better?

However, Electronic Arts has just announced that FIFA 22 has already gathered 9,1 million players across all media. Around 460 million matches have been played and 7,6 million FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) teams have been created. But the press release from the American firm contains more surprising information.

Thus, it is clearly mentioned that the publisher is considering renaming its football simulations. Electronics Arts is currently reviewing its agreement with FIFA regarding the name of the games. This change, if it occurs, should not impact all other partnerships and official licenses which are managed separately. So FIFA 23 may never see the light of day under this name.
