FIFA 22: positive feedback for Preview Packs, alternatives to Ultimate Team loot boxes

Long decried by the community for their necessarily random content, the loot boxes will coexist with a more transparent system in FIFA 22 coins. These are the Preview Packs.

Last June, the American publisher unveiled these Preview Packs for its FIFA Ultimate Team mode (or FUT for short). To put it simply, the content of these boosters, which can be purchased directly in the game, can be viewed before checkout. A good way to avoid unpleasant surprises when unpacking. If these famous Preview Packs were initially only to be available for one month, EA finally chose to keep them in parallel with the standard packs (the loot boxes therefore).

During a conference on the financial results of his company during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022, Andrew Wilson, the CEO of Electronic Arts, spoke about the Preview Packs. He said in particular that the first feedback from the community is very positive about this alternative.

“The Preview Packs, as I can tell, have been well received. We have seen an increase in engagement and a higher rate of buyers”.

Like what, transparency also has advantages. FIFA 22 will be released on October 1, 2021 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
