virtually a year after its release, L 'Action-RPG of CD Projekt RED cyberpunk 2077 should soon be entitled to a mod allowing to browse it in VR.
Luke Ross, an expert in the field of virtual reality mods, has indeed confirmed on his Patreon page that this will be the next game he will work on, after having proposed similar mods on Red Dead Redemption 2 or Grand Theft Auto 5.
braindance
As Cyberpunk 2077 has seen a huge surge in popularity recently, especially on Steam, Luke Ross held a poll on his Patreon page to find out which next game is getting the VR treatment. With a large majority, it was CD Projekt RED's latest title that won.
Interviewed on this subject by our colleagues at PCGamer, Luke Ross was confident and believes he can make this VR mod available by January 2022, if no major problem arises. A rather optimistic prognosis, particularly encouraged by the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 is played exclusively in first person (despite a more or less convincing attempt to switch the camera to third person).
To apply his magic to most games, Luke Ross has developed a VR engine called "VR Injection Framework", allowing, as its name suggests, to inject a VR dimension into games that originally lacked it. The mods thus created, however, only support classic controllers and head movement tracking. It will therefore not be possible to interact within Night City using the controllers provided with most VR headsets.
Either way, the prospect of returning to Night City with another look can always be tempting, and it won't be long before you try this Luke Ross mod.
