xCloud is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One at the end of the year

On the occasion of the Xbox Stream during Gamescom 2021, the Xbox CloudGaming turned out to be one of the stars of the event, as he is about to make his entrance on Xbox Series X|S et Xbox One.

Microsoft's cloud gaming service can first be tested this fall by members of the Xbox Insider program, before being rolled out globally at the end of the year.

Xbox consoles on a small cloud at the end of the year

Currently only available on PC and smartphones, the entire Xbox ecosystem will soon finally be able to enjoy Xbox Cloud Gaming. Available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, it will be possible to enjoy the hundreds of games in the catalog thanks to the power of the Microsoft Cloud.


Among the notable benefits of this service for console gamers is the ability to test games before even installing them. Another advantage of Xbox Cloud Gaming on consoles: taking advantage of drastically reduced loading times, especially on Xbox One consoles, which do not have an SSD.

Xbox One console owners will also be able to try out games previously exclusive to Xbox Series X | S such as Microsoft Flight Simulator or The Medium. Better yet, it will be possible to enjoy cross-generation games without the aging Xbox One hardware harming the overall experience.

Unleashed performance made easy with Xbox Cloud Gaming

Given that the architecture of Xbox Cloud Gaming is based on hardware close to that of the Xbox Series X|S, in-game performance should be there, regardless of the platform. Xbox announces that it can support up to 1p at 080 frames per second, as is already the case on the PC and smartphone versions of the service.

We were able to see during the Xbox Stream the interface dedicated to cloud gaming to come on Xbox consoles. In order to take advantage of this service and be able to play compatible games almost instantly, all you have to do is look for a cloud icon at the bottom right of the cover of a given game. Then, you just have to press "Play" on the game concerned and enjoy the experience on a small cloud. Of course, a solid connection (preferably fiber optic) is essential in order to take full advantage of Xbox Cloud Gaming.

As a reminder, the arrival of the service on all Xbox consoles is planned for the end of the year, but it will be possible to test it in advance this fall. All you need to do is be a member of the Xbox Insider program. The American giant will not fail to communicate at the appropriate time the important dates to remember concerning this important operation.
