Wishing to make the Xbox ecosystem accessible to everyone, Microsoft had allowed a few PC gamers to enjoy a hundred games via xCloud. Continuing its momentum, the American manufacturer extends this functionality to consoles.

A handful of gamers can now access Xbox Cloud Gaming on their Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles. A great feature for testing a game before installing it.

xCloud is coming to consoles

Starting today, Xbox Insiders with Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead can access xCloud directly from their consoles. This feature allows, among other things, to enjoy the entire Xbox Game Pass Cloud catalog on Xbox Series and Xbox One. It is all the more interesting for players of the previous generation, since it offers access to new-gen exclusives like The Medium or Microsoft Flight Simulator. However, the games will only present a resolution in 1080p at 60 frames per second, as is already the case on PC.

The Redmond company announces that the number of testers will increase over time, with a global rollout set for the end of 2021. This initiative is part of many steps Microsoft has taken to make games of the Xbox ecosystem accessible to everyone and on all devices. The manufacturer plans to extend this functionality to connected televisions and streaming services in the future.
