The clarification was expected by many players, and the sentence has just fallen! The boss of Xbox himself has expressed his desire to continue the license Call of Duty on PlayStation consoles.

The takeover of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft has cast a chill over a whole section of the gaming community. We were indeed entitled to ask ourselves if Xbox was going to grant itself exclusivity on all the licenses of the American publisher. If doubt persists about many franchises, Phil Spencer, the boss of Microsoft's video game division, has spoken openly about Call of Duty.

PlayStation gamers can blow

Spencer said in a tweet that he had several phone interviews with Sony bosses this week. Microsoft took the opportunity to reaffirm its desire to honor the existing agreements between Activision Blizzard and PlayStation. In addition, the American manufacturer has also expressed its desire to continue to offer Call of Duty on the machines of the Japanese brand.

Thus, the next installments of the FPS saga should also be released on PS5 (and potentially on PS4). It remains to be seen whether such a cohabitation can last in the long term. Call of Duty players should therefore not see any major changes immediately.
