In a few months, it may be possible to add an IPS screen to the Xbox Series S.

A “xScreen” project, by UPspec Gaming has just launched on Kickstarter, and the concept is proving to be very (very) attractive.

Soon a screen for the Xbox Series S?

Less powerful than an Xbox Series X and a PS5, the Xbox Series S is a very light console, designed to be taken from one room to another, on vacation, on the move... Also, at UPspec Gaming, we have developed a dedicated screen, called “xScreen”, which could be marketed from January 2022.

The oldest will probably remember the official LCD screen launched by Sony a few years ago now for the small PSOne. The concept is the same here, namely a screen which is grafted directly to the back of the console, via the USB and HDMI ports, and which can be closed on the machine, like a laptop.

The xScreen screen has an 11,6-inch IPS panel to display an image in Full HD 1080p and 60 fps quality. There are also two small speakers. The designers indicate that the screen does not require any external power supply, and that it is indeed the Xbox Series S which will be responsible for animating the latter.

An xScreen screen that seems to appeal to gamers, since the Kickstarter campaign goal, set at $9, was shattered in just a few minutes. At the time of writing these modest lines, the project has already raised no less than $703… 51 days before the end of the campaign.

Right now, this amazing xScreen external display is priced at $249. Case to follow so (but it makes you want).
