Released in August 2020, Wasteland 3 is adorned with a first extension called The Battle of Steeldown, expected on June 3.
This extension will be deployed on PC (GOG and Steam), PS4 and Xbox One. It will be a new story in its own right, offered at a price of 13,99 euros on all platforms. Xbox Game Pass subscribers who want to get the expansion will also get a 10% discount on their purchase.

Return to factory
As the name suggests, the main theater for this expansion will be the Steeldown Factory. This is crucial in Colorado, because it manufactures all the technology to defend the region (trucks, armor, weapons and robots). It is also a strategic place for the Patriarch, its self-proclaimed ruler, to maintain his power.
Unfortunately for him, the Patriarch's reign is far from peaceful, and many rival factions covet this factory to control such key resources. Deliveries from Steeldown have indeed ceased to flow, with the only returns being an icy silence.
Unable to leave this factory in the hands of his enemies, the Patriarch therefore sends our group, the Rangers, to investigate on the spot. The latter discover a place on the verge of the explosion: the workers show their dissatisfaction and the bandits loot the place freely. It will therefore be up to us to decide the fate of this plant on the occasion of this extension.

This extension will therefore offer everything that is expected of the excellent original story of Wasteland 3. It will thus be possible to browse it in solo as well as in coop and to tackle new quests, each more devious than the other. .
Assembly plant obliges, we will be confronted with new adversaries, human as robotic, equipped with weapons and armor at the cutting edge of technology (as far as possible in a post-apocalyptic world in any case). The tactical fights will be as such full-bodied by new mechanics such as status effects, elemental shields and even non-lethal weapons, thus offering a new way of approaching the situations which we will face.
It will be quite possible to discover this extension without even having started the main story, the overall level of the Steeldown factory constantly adapting to that of our group. For veterans, the choices made with your group during the main story will also be reflected in the expansion story.
So meet on June 3 in front of the factory gates to decide its fate: will you side with the Patriarch, will you rather appropriate resources for your own purposes, or will you simply let it burn?
