Valheim: Taming Animals and Breeding

In Valheim, you can breed several animals, some being more interesting than others. We come back to all the possibilities and their usefulness. Like other survival games, you will be able, in Valheim, to raise your animals to be completely independent and no longer spend hours hunting, which can very quickly become redundant. Unfortunately, not all creatures can currently be tamed. We offer you a small return in order to know everything about thebreeding in Valheim.

What creatures can we tame in Valheim?

As you may know, only three species are tamable at the moment in Valheim. Some, like the Nixes or the stags, are not, unlike boars, wolves and loxes.

What farms should be done in Valheim?

The wild boar, which we find in the prairies, is very easily tamed and can provide you with a food source with its meat if you breed it. However, its performance is unattractive over time. We recommend it especially if you have just started the adventure and you have not yet explored your world well. But, you will quickly realize that breeding boars is not necessary.

For the wolf, the deal is totally different. If it is much more difficult to tame it, because of its dangerousness, having a wolf farm can be very interesting, especially for farming its resources in order to make equipment. You will therefore be able to improve them without necessarily going hunting and moreover saving time while limiting the dangers of dying. We therefore advise you to make one, once you have advanced enough in the game.

Regarding the lox, it is a rather difficult animal to tame for two reasons. Like the wolf, it is quite dangerous, but it is also found in the plains, one of the most hostile biomes. Before considering taming a lox, you will need to be equipped with relatively good armor while having very lethal weapons. The lox does not reproduce for the moment, we do not particularly advise you to start breeding, since you will not derive any advantage from it.
