The world's most popular mobile game unveils an open-world action-RPG

honor of kings, known in our latitudes asArena of Valor, is undoubtedly one of the most played mobile games in the world. But this MOBA with more than 100 million daily players is changing formula.

Via the dedicated Weibo account, its publisher Tencent announces the upcoming release of Honor Of Kings: World. A triple-A in the form of an open-world action-RPG, slated for international release on "multiple platforms." ยป

TiMi still developing the game

While Honor Of Kings / Arena of Valor will continue its (small) merry way (more than 10 billion dollars in revenue since 2015) in parallel, Tencent hopes to conquer new players with this far more ambitious title, still developed by TiMi.

Aware that the Western public is less focused on mobile games than in China, the largest publisher in the world iterates on a formula that has proven itself. It's a fact: observing the first images of Honor Of Kings: World, we immediately think of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Or even more to Genshin Impact, named after miHoYo's free-to-play which, since its release a little over a year ago, has already generated more than 2 billion dollars on iOS and Android alone (the game is also available on PS4 and PS5).

A new effort from the ogre Tencent, which has been making a phenomenal breakthrough in Western video games for years. First by a supported participation in several publishers and developers (Riot, Epic Games, Ubisoft and so on), and then by the financing of projects such as this future Honor Of Kings: World, in which the author of science will participate -fiction Liu Cixin, best known for his novel The Three-Body Problem.

No release date has yet been specified by Tencent.
