Super Mario 64: a mod invites the mustachioed plumber in Minecraft

The modding community often works miracles on very popular games. This week, a relatively gifted player had fun integrating the famous Mario directly into Minecraft.

Almost anything can be done in Minecraft. Over the years, players have been able to create ultra-detailed maps using Mojang's in-game tools… But other users have preferred to take a more atypical path. This is for example the case of @pdxdylan who wanted to pay homage to the legendary Super Mario 64.

A larger than life plumber

Thus, thanks to a mod capable of running the engine of Super Mario 64 in Minecraft, the player is able to freely control the mustachioed hero. The latter reproduces all his movements seen in his adventure released on Nintendo 64 in 1996, with the sound effects as a bonus. Mario then wanders through different biomes of the title created by Mojang by jumping, running and climbing all the obstacles in his way.

In a tweet, the modder explains that his goal is to make Minecraft end-to-end playable with Mario. Unfortunately, the main interested party does not intend to release his mod publicly for the moment… The fault of Nintendo which does not hesitate to fall on the fans who would have the misfortune to create content using its licenses. Shame !
