Steam improves its Downloads section

Many months after improving the interface of its store and player library several times, Steam is now enjoying a much needed new look on the side of its Downloads section. Valve will have taken its time in beta to refine its solution, designed above all to display more information and improve its use.

In concrete terms, we can notably identify a clearer and richer display, which shows above all the progress of the download phases and the installation phases on the disc. Paused downloads also show more data, including progress percentage. A new icon (i) next to the game bars allows you to inquire about the type of content being installed (DLC, mods, etc.), while it is now possible to rearrange the order of downloads by simple drag and drop. A context menu also offers an option to automatically launch a game as soon as its installation is complete.

Note that it is now possible to select a read-only disk to place Steam folders on it. “Patch note” buttons have also been added in various places to consult the latest game changelogs in overlay, when they exist.

Finally, various concerns specific to macOS, Linux, SteamVR and with the Steam Cloud, Remote Play Together, the list of friends or present in different places in the software have been corrected via this update of September 9, finally enough important.
