The verdict is in and the Steam Awards have been awarded, with a particularly high quality selection this year. Red Dead Redemption 2 takes the opportunity to talk about him again, more than two years after his release but barely more than 12 months after his availability on Steam.
The 2020 edition of the Steam Awards has given its winners, and Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out on top with the Game of the Year award winning against Hades, DOOM Eternal, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Death Stranding. RDR2, which also won the Outstanding Story Game award, was eligible because it was only released on Steam on December 5, 2019.

Half Life: Alyx voted best VR game, unsurprisingly
We find other big names in video games among the winners, with DOOM Eternal for the best soundtrack or Half Life: Alyx which takes the prize for VR game of the year. Death Stranding doesn't come away empty-handed with the most innovative gameplay, either.
The award for the game with undying love goes to Counter Strike: Global Offensive, ahead of The Witcher III, whose sales were boosted by the Netflix series, and the phenomenon Among Us, released in 2018 but which exploded in 2020, among other things thanks to Twitch streams.

Fifa 21 leaves empty-handed
We saw it everywhere last summer, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is the winner of the award "It's better to many". For its part, The Sims 4 leaves with the award for the relaxation moment game. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is rewarded for its exceptional visual style. Finally, and for the joke, the "best game you're a sucker for" is Apex Legends, which takes the title ahead of Fifa 21 or even the complete but hairy Crusader Kings 3.
