It's been over 8 years since Sam Fisher last showed up. The wait may soon be over, as a new Splinter Cell is currently in development at Ubisoft.
The frustration of Splinter Cell lovers is undoubtedly at its peak. For a few years now, the hero of the license has been confined to brief appearances in other Ubisoft productions. Unfortunately, the Spanish firm still does not seem determined to take the plunge by announcing a completely new episode for its saga. But things could soon change...
It's little but it's already good
According to the generally well-informed site Video Games Chronicle, a new Splinter Cell is in development. According to initial information, production has just started, and this episode should not be developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Moreover, there would be a slim chance of seeing the game announced as early as next year.
Unfortunately, we will have to content ourselves with these meager details for the moment. Ubisoft declined to answer VGC's questions. Remember that Splinter Cell: Blacklist, released in August 2013, is the latest installment in the saga. Finally, a virtual reality episode developed in partnership with Facebook is also in production.
