In general surprise, Ubisoft and Microsoft join forces so that Rainbow six extraction, FPS cooperative taken from Rainbow Six Siege, join the Game Pass PC and consoles upon release.

The announcement was relayed via a blog post on Xbox Wire, in which Ubisoft also took the opportunity to indicate that the Ubisoft+ subscription service should join the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles in the near future.

Ubisoft and Microsoft hand in hand against the Parasite

Expected on January 20 on PC (with recently detailed system requirements), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Google Stadia after many postponements, Rainbow Six Extraction obviously had one last surprise card to play. In addition to purchasing the game on consoles or via Ubisoft Connect on PC, it will thus be possible to try the latest game from the Spanish giant via the Microsoft service.

This choice could be wise when the title did not seem on track for great success. In question: repeated delays, numerous debates on its name or even a presentation which had not particularly convinced during E3 2021. But the arrival of the cooperative FPS on the Game Pass could change the situation thanks to the enormous success of Microsoft's service and its large number of subscribers.

Its competitive multiplayer counterpart Rainbow Six Siege will also join Game Pass PC and consoles as soon as Rainbow Six Extraction is released.

Ubisoft+ soon on Microsoft consoles

But this is not the only gesture of rapprochement between Ubisoft and Microsoft. This announcement was followed by another from the Spanish studio. The latter indicated that the Ubisoft + subscription service, already present on PC, Google Stadia and Luna, would arrive on Xbox consoles in the near future.

Like the arrival of Rainbow Six Extraction on the Game Pass, this will offer players various means of discovering the Ubisoft catalog, already strong of a hundred games, and in particular the titles to come the same day of their exit.

Between its partnership with Electronic Arts and now with Ubisoft, Microsoft is gradually surrounding itself with true giants of the video game industry. Whether it's Game Pass or Xbox consoles, gamers will soon be confused with so many different subscription services.
