PlayStation formalizes (finally) the acquisition of Bluepoint Games

After several months of speculation, Sony has finally taken the time to confirm a takeover which ultimately comes as no surprise. Indeed, the Japanese manufacturer has sealed the acquisition of Bluepoint Games.

In recent months, PlayStation Studios has gone from strength to strength. The Japanese firm has drawn the checkbook several times to buy Housemarque, Nixxes Software and then Firesprite. To end the year in style, Sony Interactive Entertainment has formalized a fourth takeover. The latter had been anticipated by many players for a few weeks…

It was via the PlayStation Blog that Hermen Hulst, the boss of PlayStation Studios, announced the acquisition of Bluepoint Games. Since its creation in 2006, this American structure has almost exclusively worked alongside Sony on extremely popular remasters such as Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Gravity Rush Remastered or Shadow of the Colossus (PS4). We also owe this team the incredible remake of Demon's Souls released at the launch of the PS5.



For the moment, we don't know anything about the future game from Bluepoint Games but what is certain is that it will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive!
