Nixxes Software will help Sony bring its PS4/PS5 games to PC

An acquisition whose objective clearly seems to be the development of the PC world within the Sony Interactive Entertainment catalog.

At the very beginning of the month, Sony announced the acquisition of a new studio. Nixxes Software thus entered the PlayStation family. The Dutch company was therefore following very closely the Finnish studio Housemarque that Sony had offered only a few days earlier.

Towards more Sony games on PC?

At the time of the takeover, Sony had not been very talkative and it was therefore very difficult to know what the group's objectives were. We then simply remembered that Nixxes Software was particularly noted for its multiple ports.


For example, he was responsible for the PC / PS3 versions of Tomb Raider Underworld many years ago. Subsequently, he also worked on the Windows ports of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Hitman: Absolution before moving on to the adaptations of Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, still on PC.

Studio founder Jurjen Katsman simply said, “We can't wait to get to work and are excited to bring our technical and development expertise to a juggernaut like PlayStation Studios. We look forward to working with some of the most talented teams in the industry to deliver the highest quality gaming experiences for PlayStation fans."


During an exchange with Famitsu, Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan clarified Nixxes Software's position in the PlayStation family when discussing possible ports of Sony games to the PC platform: "We don't We're still in the early stages of our efforts to bring our franchises to PC, but we're excited and looking forward to working with Nixxes to help us get there”… Nathan Drake coming soon to our PCs?
