Monster Hunter Rise: bad news for the PC version

Scheduled for January 12, 2022, the PC version of Monster hunter rise will not support cross-play or cross-progression with the version on Nintendo Switch.

Features expected by fans, but which Capcom unfortunately could not implement, according to an announcement on the game's official Twitter account.

The PC version of Monster Hunter Rise had been planned since the console-exclusive release of the latest installment in Capcom's Action-RPG franchise on Switch last March. It was not until the Tokyo Game Show 2021 that its scheduled release date for January 12, 2022 was announced.

Many fans who cut their teeth on Nintendo's hybrid console hoped to be able to continue their progress simultaneously on both platforms with their friends. A wish that Capcom tried to grant, but obviously did not find a satisfactory solution.

It is therefore not possible to share your progress between the two platforms until proven otherwise. Similarly, it will be impossible for budding hunters on PC to play with veterans on Nintendo Switch, and vice versa.

A demo of the PC version (via Steam) is scheduled for October 13, in order to see the improvements made by Capcom on this port, before an official release scheduled for January 12, 2022. This port requires a relatively reasonable configuration, but which will only ensure 30 fps at
1p with low/medium quality graphics.

As a reminder, as specified in the tweet announcing the absence of cross-play and cross-progression between the two platforms, the Sunbreak expansion expected this summer will be released simultaneously on PC and Nintendo Switch.
