No, the phenomenon Minecraft does not fade and the studio that takes care of the franchise probably has more ideas. Indeed, several projects around the license are currently in development.

In 2014, Microsoft bought Mojang for a whopping $2,5 billion. Now, global Minecraft sales peak at over 200 million copies and last February we learned that the Minecraft Dungeons spin-off surpassed 10 million players. The only real failure of the saga materializes on the side of the mobile game Minecraft Earth whose servers were closed prematurely in June.

To end this retrospective, note that Mojang was renamed Mojang Studios in 2020. Now made up of several teams dispersed between the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and of course Sweden, the company is working now on different projects. And according to the Windows Central site, at least two new Minecraft games are in development right now. According to these sources, neither title is related to the original game or Dungeons.
