With its original concept to say the least, Kerbal Space Program quickly forged a community of followers from its early access in 2011. Last June, the developers of the Squad studio already announced that update 1.12 would be the last to bring real new features. But now we have confirmation via the game's Steam page that the development of the latter is well finished. A few small patches might roll out from time to time, but the bug-fixing initiative will be drastically curtailed after the release of Update 1.12.2 this week.

Now, the Squad teams will join forces with those of Intercept Games to work on Kerbal Space Program 2. This is expected next year on consoles and PC. As for the first installment, it will receive a PS5 / Xbox Series X|S upgrade this fall.
