This announcement was expected and it finally fell this Friday, February 4. Rockstar Games has talked about the next installment in the saga Grand Theft Auto while taking stock of the near future of the franchise.

And it all kicks off next month with the return of the iconic GTA V to next-gen consoles.

Another trip to Los Santos

The starred firm has just posted a long article on its website. The studio finally sheds light on the future of its favorite license. But before moving on to the crisp information, it's time to dive back into Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar Games confirms that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will land on March 15, 2022. So no report on the horizon… GTA Online will also be part of this date and will even be free for three months on the Sony console.

This edition will include many improvements such as a 4K definition or a framerate of up to 60 FPS. The textures will be more detailed, the display distance greater and ray tracing will appear. 3D audio, shortened loading times, but also haptic feedback (on PS5) will be on the program. Saves from the PS4 and Xbox One versions of GTA V as well as GTA Online can be transferred.

Let's pass the sixth

The information that particularly catches our attention is the focus made by Rockstar Games on the sequel… Because the studio openly confirms that GTA VI is currently in full development.

“With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new installment for the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we take on, our aim is always to go significantly beyond what we have already done - and we are pleased to confirm that active development of the next Grand Theft Auto is well underway."

So the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI may be closer than we thought. Rockstar also says it is eager to share the first concrete information about the game. Still a little patience!
