After Uncharted, and while waiting The Last of Us et Jak & Daxter (among others), PlayStation Productions could look into another flagship saga from Sony.

Indeed, an adaptation of Gran Turismo would be in the boxes at Sony.

Gran Turismo in the boxes of PlayStation Studios?

For the past few days, it has been possible to discover on the big screen the film adaptation of Uncharted, supervised by PlayStation Studios. Obviously, the Japanese firm is preparing other feature films directly inspired by its flagship licenses, and if we know that The Last of Us or even Twited Metal are concerned, this is also the case for… Gran Turismo.

Indeed, the Twitter profile of Carter Swan, producer at PlayStation Studios, reported in his bio of various upcoming projects, including the games mentioned above, but also Uncharted or Ghost of Tsushima. Since then, the mention has been deleted by the main interested party (who is indeed followed by the official Gran Turismo account), but an adaptation of the game has been in the works for a few years now.

Indeed, in 2013 already, a feature film project was envisaged for Gran Turismo, with the possibility of following a young video game champion who would become a car champion in real life (yes, like some players of Gran Turismo Sport ).

It remains to be seen now if an adaptation of Gran Turismo is still planned on the side of Sony, and what form it will take. If some see it as a feature film, others imagine more of a mini-series that will return to emblematic vehicles/circuits from around the world, with the “Gran Turismo” touch of course. In the meantime, remember that Gran Turismo 7 is preparing for the big start, on PS5 as on PS4, with a launch still set for March 4.
