Despite the fact that there is no classic multiplayer mode like in other FPS, Far Cry 6 nevertheless allows several players to play with the cooperation mode. After unlocking it players can then complete the entire campaign by co-op.

How to unlock and play in co-op on Far Cry 6?
Before being able to play in co-op mode on Far Cry 6 players will have to progress a little in the campaign. Once the Du or Die mission is completed it will be possible to play in cooperation with a friend. Also note that co-op mode is only possible with 2 players, not 3 or 4 (source).
To play in co-op mode just go to in the main menu of Far Cry 6 and find the icon at the top right. It is then possible to choose whether you want to play with someone from your friends list or find someone online.

As far as progress is concerned, story progress is only saved for the host player. The invited player nevertheless benefits from the experience gained, objects and others. During the gaming session the guest must pay attention to stay within approximately 250 yards of the main player, beyond that the guest player takes damage!
