Fallout 76: the new update allows players (wealthy) to customize their world

If it has come a long way since its very mixed launch (and that's an understatement), Fallout 76 still retains some bad habits. And that's what the latest update to the game from Bethesda Game Studios perfectly illustrates.

Indeed, Fallout Worlds brings its share of novelties… But everyone will not be able to benefit from it in an equitable way.

A new world opens up to players

Downloadable for free and now on all media, this update for Fallout 76 introduces a wide range of options to customize the parameters of the world in which the player evolves. Simply put, a user is now able to change the rules within Appalachia.

For example, the player can change the difficulty of PvP, opt for unlimited ammunition or AP (for action points), remove the need for electricity from his facilities, control the weather and even the rate of appearance of the creatures that inhabit the post-apocalyptic lands of the game. In short, it is now the world that adapts to the players and not the other way around. Interesting options to say the least that lead to more personalized experiences according to individual preferences. But as so often, not everything is rosy with Fallout 76.

You will have to pay to really enjoy it

Thanks to this patch, two distinct modes are appearing. We first have the Public Worlds which are open to everyone. These were designed by Bethesda Game Studios to provide an overview of the features available in Fallout Worlds. Various rules have been modified by the development team and players can now see their impact on gameplay. A rotation is applied to allow the community to discover a maximum of parameters.

As for the personalized Worlds, they allow you to freely modify, via private servers, the rules set out above. In short, this is the whole point of the Fallout Worlds experience. Alas, this mode is paying since only subscribers to the Fallout 1st program have access to it. It is therefore necessary to count 14,99€/month (or 119,99€/year) to be able to benefit from it. And of course, it is also necessary to own a copy of Fallout 76 or to play it via the Game Pass for Xbox players.
