Unveiled at the very end of EA Play Live last Thursday after many rumors suggesting the return of the license, the remake of Dead Space became official for all to see. If we still know little about him, the project is gradually being detailed through interviews.

For example, we recently learned that the game did not want to fall into the same traps as the third installment by including microtransactions. Today, it is on the very content of the game that we obtain details.

Cut content, lore, gameplay: richer than the original!

At the end of last week, Roman Campos-Oriola, creative director at the EA Motive development studio, spoke to IGN about the course that the teams have set for this remake. Thus, the watchword is not just to update or revamp the first Dead Space, but to bring to life what may have been left out during the original development.

Because by attacking the level design of the game, the developers of EA Motive realized that part of the content had been deleted. All the reasons are unknown, however the track of technical constraints is certainly part of it.

The ambition is therefore to include them in the remake under development. But, according to Roman Campos-Oriola, the additions will not stop there since the teams are currently considering incorporating elements of lore, from parts 2 and 3, into the remake in order to flesh out the whole thing, but also animated cinematics.

Beyond the references drawn from the Dead Space universe, the gameplay itself will try to make the most of what the license could offer. Thus, zero-gravity gameplay sequences, as was the case in Dead Space 2, could make an appearance in the remake.

At this time, these are only working guidelines and at this time the release of Dead Space is still a long way off: development is said to be in its early stages and the short trailer does not reveal anything. concrete, or even a release date on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
