Last October, Crytek decided to relaunch its trilogy Crysis via a remastered compilation for current machines. An initiative that hinted at the imminent announcement of a new opus… And this formalization was probably carried out on the sly.
Update of 26/01/22 at 13:30 p.m.: Crytek has finally made it official Crysis 4 in good shape. The studio even uploaded a very first teaser available at the top of this article. We don't have any more information at this time.
Almost nine long years after the release of the third episode, the Crysis license is about to be reborn from its ashes. Indeed, after the famous remasters launched in 2021, Crytek is moving up a gear by confirming the development of a new game. But the form of this announcement is surprising...
Without rhinestones and sequins
It was the Eurogamer site that spotted a message from Crytek published on the Chinese social network BiliBili. The post in question simply confirms the existence of Crysis 4 while asking Internet users to stay tuned for details that will be communicated soon. An image of the Nanosuit's helmet accompanies this post.
As of this writing, Crytek's Western division has simply said nothing. It is therefore difficult to know if it is an error, a press release published too early or a game that could be exclusively reserved for the Chinese market. We will have to wait to know the end of the story.
