Now hooked up with Konami for future "high quality" projects (someone said Silent Hill ?), the Poles of Bloober Team see their news closely scrutinized. Which has prompted some fans to dig up obscure funding about several games in development at the studio.

Only, where the most opinionated see it as so much proof that Bloober Team is indeed working on the future Silent Hill, Tomasz Gawlikowski, marketing director of the studio, came to restore the truth in the columns of IGN.

Dated documents with inaccurate information

“Online speculation based on dated information or inaccurate information often leads players to come up with strange theories,” Gawlikowski laughs first. It refers to earmarked funding in favor of Bloober Team which has been discovered by some players, and which concerns titles with enigmatic names: H2O, Black and Dum Spiro.

The first is actually already available It is according to the marketing director of Layers of Fear 2, released in 2019. And the other two then? “After several iterations of Dum Spiro, we have concluded that we cannot, at this time, deliver it in a form that is both respectful of the subject matter and commercially viable. In short, Dum Spiro is no longer in active development at this time.”

Black, if he is still in development (and under this code name), no longer looks like what was originally designed by the studio. Thought as a horror FPS in a Middle Ages attacked by aliens, the game and its initial concept "have been buried, and although the game is still in development, it is now a very different project from what you may have read on the web the last few days,” adds Gawlikowski.

Two projects in development, and more ambitious than The Medium

What about this famous Silent Hill then? We suspect it: Tomasz Gawlikowski has not said a word about the future plans of the studio and its very recent partnership with Konami. What is certain, however, is that the Bloober Team is currently working on two projects simultaneously.

“At Bloober Team, we have two active internal projects. One is in production phase, the other in pre-production. Both will be bigger and more ambitious than The Medium was. However, none are based on themes or predictions that have been seen circulating online in recent days. »

While waiting to find out more, remember that happy owners of a PlayStation 5 will be able to discover The Medium on September 3. The game is already available on PC and Xbox Series X|S, notably via the Game Pass.
