Blizzard cancels the next BlizzCon

Yet announced, the BlizzConline 2022 will not take place. Blizzard explains this, but continues to worry.

A few months ago, Blizzard confirmed that there would be no BlizzCon in November 2021, for the second year in a row. But the publisher announced that, as in February 2021, a BlizzConline 2022 would be planned for the beginning of next year. The online event will ultimately not see the light of day.

BlizzConline 2022 canceled

Blizzard has officially canceled BlizzConline. "It was a tough decision for all of us, but it's the right one," the company explains on its official website. She adds that every BlizzCon, online or in-person, requires a significant effort from across the company, and that right now, the time and energy spent doing so should instead be directed towards developing the games.



It is specified that Blizzard also wishes to modernize and reimagine its formula. We know that many other publishers have moved on to more regular communications over short periods of time and with the omnipresence of montages, a concept drawn and taken from Nintendo Direct… Blibli could perhaps draw inspiration from it.

Finally, the publisher wants to reassure about the new features to come on its games, and ensures that even without BlizzConline, there will be announcements to come.
