History buffs can now explore Viking times like never before. Indeed, the long-awaited mode Discovery Tours just arrived for Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Promised thing, thing due, the Discovery Tour, named Viking Age, is now accessible. It allows players to freely explore the Assassin's Creed Valhalla map without having to suffer any conflict. This mode transforms the title of Ubisoft into a real open-air museum. Historians have even worked with the Spanish publisher to set up this device.
More than just a ride
But, this year, Ubisoft has done things differently, since the Discovery Tour offers a few scripted quests. During these missions, it is possible to play as four distinct characters, including King Alfred the Great. It is therefore a structured story, but devoid of fights that is offered to us. And, by achieving its objectives, items like armor, a mount or even a ship will be unlocked for the main game.
Finally, discovery sites have been placed all over the map in order to inform us about the creation of the game and its historical context. The Discovery Tour is free for all Assassin's Creed Valhalla owners. It can also be purchased separately on PC. This standalone version will land on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Stadia and Luna in 2022.
