Animal Crossing: New Horizons has quickly become one of the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch console. With a high level of accessibility and a host of relaxing activities on the island, fans are enjoying the experience but have been craving new content for months. In October 2021, Nintendo announced free quality of life updates coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on November 5, 2021, including prescriptions.

Ordinances in Animal Crossing: New Horizons change the hours residents of the island remain active. The ordinance mechanic allows players to change the activity of villagers to fit their play schedule. An ordinance even increases the monetary gain from selling items.
