According to Ubisoft, players don't understand the value of NFTs

Ubisoft's new release about the NFT could aggravate the dissatisfaction of the players… Indeed, the Spanish publisher defended its strategy by pointing the finger at the relative ignorance of the users.

What if Ubisoft had just made a real miscommunication? It was through Nicolas Pouard, vice-president of strategic innovations, that the Spanish multinational spoke out on the mostly negative feedback from players against Ubisoft Quartz, its platform dedicated to NFTs. And the publisher probably did not seek to calm things down.

A dialogue of the deaf that takes hold?

In an interview with the Finder site, Pouard defended the initiatives taken by Ubisoft on the NFT market. The main interested party did not say he was surprised by the reactions while adding that “[…] it is a difficult concept to grasp”. Here are his words:

Quartz is a first step that will lead to something bigger. Something players will understand more easily. I think gamers don't understand what a digital secondary market can do for them. […] They believe that it is primarily a market that will destroy the planet and only a tool for speculation.

But what we see first is the finality. It's about giving players the ability to resell their items once they're done with them or with the game. So it's really for them. It's really beneficial. But they don't understand right now.

That shouldn't fix things!
