Vegeta (detector)

01A

Here is Vegeta as he comes to Earth for the first time, still using the detector to assess the strength of his opponents. It is a transmission from Raditz that reveals to him the existence of the crystal balls. He then goes to Earth accompanied by Nappa with the aim of becoming immortal thanks to the power of the balls. He then thinks he can succeed in defeating Frieza. Too dependent on his detector, Vegeta is not yet able to gauge his opponent in a relevant way. He also learned on Earth that such a device was useless against Goku and his friends accustomed to masking or increasing their strength.

01C

Vegeta is the very archetype of the Saiyan fighter and fights against Goku and all the other warriors without showing an ounce of mercy, overwhelming them with unrestrained attacks. He regards his comrades no better, treating the other Saibaimen (warriors born from the seeds he planted on Earth) and Nappa as vulgar trash, thus displaying his cruel and relentless side. Defeated by Goku during their first encounter, Vegeta flees Earth blaming his defeat on his addiction to the detector. He trained hard to overcome this error and quickly assimilated human techniques. He also symbolically destroys his detector during his fight against Doria on the planet Namek.

Giant Gorilla Vegeta

02A

Vegeta transforms into a giant gorilla during his first encounter with Goku. It is only surprised by the strength of the latter that he decides to resort to such a stratagem. Unable to get the better of Goku, Vegeta swallowed his pride and launched an artificial moon into the sky to transform. Unlike most Saiyans, Vegeta does not lose his mind when he takes this form. That's why he manages to increase his powers to the maximum, without losing his mind. But this form still has a weak point. If his tail is cut off, he can no longer use this appearance.

Vegetate

03A

After his fight on Earth, Vegeta leaves for Namek in order to seize the crystal balls linked to this planet. He then meets Frieza and his henchmen on the spot and is forced to temporarily ally himself with Sangoku and his friends. The episode of Namek ended, he settles down with Bulma's family on Earth. From this moment, Vegeta seems to have only one goal in mind: to defeat Carot, in other words Sangoku. He then begins to train tirelessly, every day. During his training, the proud Saiyan ended up getting closer to Bulma who gave him a son: Trunks. His stay on Earth slightly modifies Vegeta's behavior which then seems to calm down. However, he remains extremely proud and rarely mixes with others, thus continuing to adopt a cold attitude towards others, even with his own son Trunks from the future. Much like Goku, Vegeta isn't interested in much besides fighting. So he spends his days training. All that matters to him is getting past and defeating Goku.

Vegeta Super Saiyen

04A

Vegeta arrives at the SuperSaiyen stage long after Sangoku. Overwhelmed by Goku's power, he lets go of his anger and manages to transform. Just like every Saiyan using this transformation, Vegeta's appearance changes and his power suddenly increases. His personality is also altered. Vegeta for his part becomes even more aggressive than he already is and abuses confidence in his strength. It was in this form that he used his famous “Big Bang Attack” technique for the first time.

Super Vegeta

05A

Here is Vegeta in his "Super Vegeta" form and not Super Saiyan 2. This state does not really correspond to stage number 2 of the Saiyen, but is rather considered as an intermediate stage. After being defeated by Android 18, Vegata swallows his pride again and learns the hard way that there will always be someone stronger than him. He then trains ardently in the Hall of Spirit and Time with his son Trunks from the future. It was during this training that he learned to master this form. When he changes into Super Vegeta, he then becomes more imposing and his muscles seem to double in size (this state is rather poorly represented in Tenkaichi 3, if we compare his modeling with that of the series). We also notice that the blue flashes characteristic of the Super Saiyen 2 transformation are absent. The first time he chose to adopt this form, he made short work of Cell. But this one was not in his perfect form and issued a challenge to Vegeta who finally helped him to complete his transformation in order to compete against him again.

Vegeta 2ème forms

06A

Here is Vegeta as we know him during the Bou saga. Cell's tournament ended, he continues to train hard in order to surpass Son Goku, but also Gohan who proved that he was a formidable warrior during this event. Still as proud and stubborn as before, Vegeta isn't as cruel anymore thanks to his family life. Later in Dragon Ball GT, he will be seen changing his haircut and growing his mustache. A choice that master Toriyama probably did not really appreciate. However, he ends up quickly shaving his mustache under the recommendations of his daughter Bra. In the GT series, we can even see Vegeta driving his daughter for shopping (anything) which means that either he managed to pass his license, or he drives without...

Vegeta Super Saiyen - 2ème form

07A

Just like other Saiyans, it is this stage of transformation that Vegeta most often resorts to. Ideal for building considerable strength without wasting too much energy, the Super Saiyan (simple) state seems to be the perfect compromise for most situations. It was in this form that he used his new technique "Final Bursting Attack" during his fight against Android 17 in Dragon Ball GT.

Vegeta Super Saiyan 2 - 2nd form

By continuing his efforts, Vegeta also reaches this point. It is under this transformation that Vegeta stands up to Bou when Goku prepares his Genkidama to permanently eliminate the threat of the pink enemy. Vegeta even tried to convince the earthlings to give their energy to contribute to the power of Goku's attack, but in the end it was Mr Satan (or Hercules) who won the trust of the inhabitants of the blue planet.

Majin Vegeta

09A

This is the possessed version of Vegeta. Thanks to the magic technique of the wizard Babidi, this state allows Vegeta to release all his power. After the Cell Game, Vegeta trained tirelessly in hopes of surpassing Goku. This determination only reinforced his disappointment when he realized that he had reached his limits as a fighter... To finally be able to play on equal terms with Goku, Vegeta voluntarily lets himself be possessed by Babidi in order to develop power, but also to fight against Goku without restraint, without worrying about his family or his friends, as he would have done before. He therefore let himself be subjugated by magic to transform into Majin Vegeta. Even under the wizard's influence, Vegeta refused to obey him and offered Goku a duel to the death. This same duel that he had been waiting for since his first meeting with Goku. Later, Vegeta felt responsible for Bou's resurrection and decided to face him alone. He then tried a technique where he blew himself up, but it did not have the desired effect and Bou survived.

Trunks (sword)

10A

Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma. To save Earth from a tragic future in which Goku and the other warriors die and cyborgs destroy the planet, trunks uses a time machine to travel to the past to a time when Goku is still alive. With a single swing of his sword, Trunks defeats Frieza, who has returned for revenge. In the future (in his time therefore), Trunks learned the basics of combat with Gohan, the only one of our heroes to have survived. His time travel also allows him to meet his father Vegeta whom he never knew. Trunks saving Goku who is supposed to die of heart disease causes a series of time paradoxes that spawns 3 different futures.

Super Saiyan Trunks (Sword)

11A

Trunks transforms for the first time into a Super Saiyan when he finds his mentor left dead by the Cyborgs (in his time). After traveling back in time aboard a time machine to meet Goku and the others, Trunks assumes this form once again in order to defeat Mecha Frieza and his father King Cold. In the cyborg offensive (one of the OAVS), the three Super Saiyans Goku, Trunks and Vegeta fight together for the first time. Trunks from the future occupies an important place in the series from the episode of the Cyborgs and throughout the period of Cell.

Trunks

12A

Here is Trunks slightly more mature, tackling a bit longer hair that Bulma later cut. He no longer carries his sword on his back because he simply lost it in the fight against the cyborgs. It was after training with Vegeta for a year in the Hall of Spirit and Time that Trunks first sported this appearance. He has become much stronger following this training and even seems to have matured. He discovers with his father Vegeta a transformation even more effective than that of the Super Saiyan (the Super mode). At the end of the Cell Game, Trunks returns to his time thanks to his time machine and uses his new powers to face Cell and the cyborgs alone. The year spent with Vegeta in the room of spirit and time allowed Trunks to better understand his father. Real bonds were thus formed between the two men during this period.

Here is Trunks in Super Saiyan when he has long enough hair. He no longer carries his sword on his back because he simply lost it in the fight against the cyborgs. It was after training with Vegeta for a year in the Hall of Spirit and Time that Trunks first sported this appearance. He has become much stronger following this training and even seems to have matured. Super Trunks

14A

This level can be considered as advanced Saiyan. It is the intermediate stage between that of Super Saiyen and Super Saiyen 2. After Vegeta's defeat against Android 18, he and Trunks train hard in the Hall of Spirit and Time. Just like his father, Trunks then succeeded in transforming himself in this way. It is in this guise that he courageously fights against Cell after the latter absorbs C-18 and achieves his perfect form. In this state, Trunks' size as well as his strength exceeds that of Vegeta when he assumes the same form. However, his speed is reduced and he cannot remain in this form for too long because of the excessive energy it consumes.

Trunks petit

15A

Here is Child Trunks. Sole heir to the fortune of Capsule Corporation, this Trunks has nothing to do with his equivalent of the future. This one was largely spoiled rotten. This Trunks is stubborn, capricious and can sometimes give those around him a hard time. Typically, Trunks spends his days playing with his best friend Sangoten who is a year younger than him. He also trains whenever he can with Vegeta. His potential is enormous and he quickly managed to transform into a Super Saiyan without much effort. Later, Trunks and Sangoten will use the Fusion technique to confront Bou. Trunks adores his father although he is disappointed that the latter does not spend much time with him outside of training.

Trunks Super Saiyen petit

16A

The young Trunks we know him and very different from his counterpart of the future. He doesn't really need to train to become a Super Saiyan and knows how to take this form very early on. He transforms during training with Vegeta, visibly very surprised to learn that his son and that of Son Goku have already mastered the Super Saiyen stage. In Super Saiyan, Trunks' strength is obviously increased tenfold. His power is so strong for his age that Vegeta gets caught out in a practice and then forgets to hold his punches. While his physical appearance changes a lot in this form, his stubborn and temperamental side remains. Even during fights, Trunks can't help but display an arrogant attitude. In the DBZ movies, Trunks will make several appearances in this form. Finally, note that he ends up in his underwear during one of his encounters with the legendary warrior Broly.
